The weapons we used in the 1800's were, black powdered rifles, black powdered revolvers, shotguns, we still used swords, and canons. When it was in the middle or almost over in the American Civil War they developed the Gatling gun which the faster you gateled the gun the faster it would shoot. Then during the late 1800's through the early 1900's or middle of the Civil War they developed the lever-action rifle.
