The soldiers drank lots of tea. They also had drinks such as wine and rum.  They ate many dried vegetables, including carrots, beets, potatoes, and beans. Meat wasn't very popular, but soldiers ate dry and salty meat. These meats were bacon, corned beef, and pork. Soldiers ate bread with jam, and ate various types of crackers and biscuits. For some soldiers, they would indulge themselves into a meal of eggs. Desserts would be chocolate, and chocolate "pudding," which is a melted chocolate piece, made smooth and creamy.

They had very limited rations. A few cracker like biscuits, if they were lucky some bacon and cheese but they
mainly survived on Bully beef, which was basically tinned corned beef plus chocolate, jam bread and eggs.
They also had a tinned stew called Maconachi which contained water mixed with chloride and dried vegetables.
If there were no vegetables some soldiers used leaves as they added flavour. But there were LOTS of rats, I'm
talking in there millions! Invading the trenches and eating the food! Which clearly, isn’t a good thing!

Well the kind of foods they had were things like chocolate, jam bread and eggs like that and the drinks were rum and wine. Their foods were mainly rationed so they didnt really have much choice about the things they ate.
