The American Civil War, or what is also known as the war between the states was fought mostly in the south, because it was the south that was trying to secede and the northern states sent troops there to stop them from leaving. So many of the battles were in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Georgia, and down the Mississippi River area.

The Civil War had many battles all over the nation at least as far as the midwest.- I live in the KC Missouri area and we have a lot of battle sites here.  Go to the library and get a book on the Civil War for exact locations.
