They had them make reservations to live on their own lands while making it sound like a great deal to protect their rights to keep a small part of their own land to live on.in reality they were giving up their land and rights to live in their own country now occupied by another group of people. Or as the old saying goes to the victor goes the spoils.which if you think about even sounds wrong when said. Spoils. Sounds like something that is rotting away after being taken.
