I really wish some of you people knew that you were talking about.  The honest tax dollar break down is not quite so honest.
$1.00
break downs =
.08 goes towards education (unless these are cut.  Currently (2010 Mar) its .04 of a dollar.)
.22 goes towards income security
.18 towards health care
.05 towards police
.06 towards fire and ambulance
.02 towards courts

that is only .61  what of the other .39.
It goes into things like purchasing gold (.09) covering up lies (.03) paying for elections (.07) and the last .20 is whats left over, it just magically disappears, usually into someones pocket.
Try looking it up.  You will find out the same thing

The largest chunk of tax, 22 percent, goes toward income security that includes Social Security, welfare, disability payments and unemployment insurance. The next-largest expenditure, 20 percent, goes for health care that includes Medicaid and Medicare. A significant 42 percent of American tax is spent on entitlement programs. Public safety, including national defense and local police, fire, prison and court costs make up another 20 percent of taxes. Then comes education. About 74 percent of taxes spent on education will go towards elementary and secondary schools, with most of the rest paying for colleges, and the remainder for public libraries. Overall, education accounts for 16 percent of your tax.

If the Government didn’t tax us, we would be bankrupt. Our taxes go towards Government spending on public services like: Healthcare, education, public transportation, supporting the military, fixing roads,
