Generally speaking, politics for young adults is like wine for young teens; it is an aquired, mature flavour that needs to come naturally, sometimes never does but generally you take an intetest sooner or later.

Interesting view. I always thought it was the whole "if I can't have an impact or make a change, why bother?' mentality too...

Have you seen this interview with Russell Brand? I found it susrprisngly exciting (despite hating the guy) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YR4CseY9pk

Not yet but i will be sure to take a look. Yes I mean this is only generally speaking, some just never take an interest in politics and some feel that they have a right to 'not vote' so it is all very open.

If you mean legally, it's because they're too influenced by their parents and wouldn't be able to make decisions uninfluenced by others.
