There are other sample speeches on the internet but some are very poorly written and I think it is essential to put your personality into the speech. The above website helps with this and even gives hints on how to involve the congregation.

You have been given a great honour, this proves that you are well-liked, trusted and respected by your pastor and members of your congregation already, so just be yourself and you will be fine.

Try not to worry if you forget part of the speech or stumble over it, people are forgiving and it only shows that you are human and not infallible.
