No. We are a country made up of imigrants that lives in a global society.
Should the USA be more isolationist?
We can't. This is not our nature. If we would be like this by now we wouldn't be where we are today as a country and a nation.
There is a show that Amazon made, The Man in the High Castle, that gives one possible outcome if the USA had stayed isolated - apparently someone took a shot (a real one) at the Chicago mayor while FDR was next to him. The bullet of course missed, but the show has him actually getting shot, and then his vice president keeping the USA isolated and out of WW2 until its too late and everyone else has been defeated, then Germany and Japan just attack both coasts at once and defeat the USA. The USA doesn't need to be everyone's policeman, but should not be isolated either.
