Iowa is a state that is part of the United States of America. It has an area of 56,272 square miles that makes it the 26th largest state of United States. The population of Iowa is 3,002,555 which makes it the 30 largest state by population.

The Congress established the Territory of Iowa on July 4, 1838. Robert Lucas was the first governor of this territory. Iowa was admitted to the Union on 28 December, 1846 which made it the 29th state to join the Union after it got a claim for statehood on December 28, 1846.
