It was in the year 1835 that the Texas Revolution took place. There were several factors that led to this revolution. Firstly the rules and regulations that the Mexican government had adumbrated for the Americans to follow (all of those Americans who would be staying in the American colony of Texas) were not followed by the Americans, which enraged the Mexicans all the more as Americans had brought with them enslaved African Americans as well. Moreover the American colonists who were living in Texas were only living for the reason that it had cheap land but soon they wanted independence from Mexico, a pursuit that ultimately led to the Texas revolution. The Mexican president even sent soldiers to end the revolt but it proved to be a practice in futility as one year after the revolution, the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed by about 59 delegates in the year 1836.
