Dictatorship is a form of government that has absolute power over a country or state. Dictatorship is practiced by one absolute ruler called the dictator. Dictators were also called tyrants by the ancient Romans. Although we hear less about dictatorship these days, dictators do exist. There are many dictators who are practicing dictatorship over many countries. Some examples of modern dictators are: Al Zarqawi (Iraq), Suharto (Indonesia), Osama Bin Laden (worldwide) and many more.

A dictatorship is a type of government that is handled by one person and decisions are made without consent of other members. Nowadays there are many countries where dictatorship is being practiced.

Dictatorship is when one person takes control of a person or country by force.

Dictatorship is a form of government in which all the powers are in the hands of a individual or a small group of individuals and the dictator is not answerable to anybody.

In some dictatorships the people are given some security and a better standard of living, so there is less likelihood of a revolt - in others the main control method is fear.
