It has effected the bahamian society with our local junkanoooo inherited by our african slave jonny kanoo it gave us bahamians our color our from of dance and our taste of food which we all bahamians have grown to love.

Sorry to say, he wast our african slave, he was an african slave who came to america and was then transpoted to the bahamas. He was a tribal chief in africa and therefore he wanted the right to celebrate with his peopl, thir cultural ways. Furthermore it not "jonny kanoo"(thats why i think your not a Bahamain.) it spelt Johny Canoe, as Arecio said.

I kno I late ryte but it is :1.junkanoo is inherited by johny canoe giving  bahamian their  colour ,  food, and dancing which they love ;2.slaves come to their island to learn their language;3.festivals n celebrations  play an important role in Bahamian culture and events including lively music which is cultural.
So four effects r music christian practices languages and junkanoo...

That us very wrong! Johny canoe is a restaurant. Junkanoo is a festival that we inherited from our african ancestors...... They celebrated at christmas because there masters gave them the day off and they danced the streets in masks and costumes made out of crepep paper.... And it was named after john canoe a slave prince who was a leader
