I think Europeans wold have 'conquered' Africa even without the Industrial Revolution. The major impact perhaps of said conquest was, better weapons were available for the europeans. An aside (by me) maybe the africans would have fought better, but they fought among themselfs for whatever reason. Maybe I'm in 'left field', so take this statement carefully.
