England entered world war one because they had an agreement with belgium that they will protect them if anything goes wrong. Because belgium wanted to be neutral in the war. While Germany had wanted to declare war on france by crossing belgium!
That's what triggered the british to fight!

Great Britain had several reasons to become involved in World War One. They were bound by treaty obligation to protect  Belgium's neutrality. They depended on French and Russian good will to help maintain control of their colonies. Moreover, Britain could never afford to have a Europe dominated by Germany. The disruption to their trade would be so vast that as British Foreign Secretary Sir Edward Grey put it. "If we are engaged in war we shall suffer but little more than if we stand aside."
