Canada entered World War One automatically - Canada was a part of the British Empire, therefore, having to defend Britain in it's fights. Canada, along with Britain, were allied with Russia and France, and later Serbia, known as the Triple Entente, and they were enemies with the Triple Alliance - Austria-Hungary, Germany and Italy (and later, Bulgaria)
