Triple Alliance was an undisclosed agreement between Germany, Italy and Austria-Hungary which was made in the year 1882. Otto Von Bismarck was the father figure of the Triple Alliance. The agreement was created for the purpose of helping each other.

Through the agreement it was decided that Germany and Austria-Hungary would support Italy in the time of French attack and similarly Italy would support Germany as return. It was also decided that Italy would be neutral if Russia attacked Austria-Hungary. Through that agreement, it was Bismarck's idea to isolate France. In 1902, a conflict between Italy and Austria-Hungary for their same interests over the Balkans led Italy to arrive at an understanding with France. It canceled out Italy's word of honor to the members of the Triple Alliance.
