The gulf war lasted approximately seven months. The war started in the month of August 1990 and lasted till February 28, 1991.

The reason of the war was quite simple and it started with the Iraq's invasion of Kuwait on August 2,1990. Iraq's view was that Kuwait was drilling oil from its territory through slant drilling.

Immediately after the invasion, the UNO brought sanctions against Iraq. And a coalition of 20 nations was formed to resist the illegal invasion. The coalition forces attacked Iraq in January making its base in neighbouring countries like Saudi Arabia. Iraq also fired missiles on Israel but it had to bow down against the mighty coalition forces which were quite superior in their aerial power.

The war had last about 6 years. We have troops there now, but we are not really attacking them. We are only in the country to prevent them from invading us.

The gulf war was started in August of 1990, supposed to have been the mother of all wars, was cut short after the west intervined when Iraq invaded kuwait. Again, 1993 approx the west intereviend with Saddam Hussains plot on an oppressive domination of both his own country and fellow countrymen, the oppressive parties being I believe the shia-muslim community.. It is believed during the reign of Saddam Hussain that months before the invasion; Special Air Service had intercepted and mingled with locals, commonly disguising themselves as 'arabs' whilst infiltrating the community, and often working in garages or bikeshops so as not to compromise themselves to enemy.
