The most important one was that Hitler and Mussolini were brought together by their co-operation in the Spanish Civil War. This was the background for their alliance as part of the Axis forces that fought the Allies in WW2. For Hitler it was a dry run into getting information on how to bomb cities from the air in an effective manner that later formed his Blitzkreig strategy.
