You don't want to over do it. let's think about it. the party is really for the adults. A one year old won't remember this party so i think just get a cake and some toys and let them have fun

If you want to do a little spoiling just get her the tennis shoes. She won't know any difference. Maybe you could do some babysitting for free to help the mom. Peace

Her mom usually does the babysitting and when she goes out I go with her, that's mainly the only time she goes out. I mean I'm sure I will be the only one spending this much money on her besides the grandparents to the baby. But this will be like the only time I will spend this much. Her other birthdays aren't as big as the her first one.

I understand and I think it's okay. If the relatives say anything just tell them what you told me. Peace

It depends how close you are to the family. I would suggest any where from $25 to $50. Also there is no monetary standard any more. You give what you can afford to give. People will understand than everybody is in different financial situations.

I can afford more than $50. I grew up with my friend and her parents are like my second parents. I am way better off than she and can afford it, not that I'm rich haha.
