Christmas eve we celebrate with his family. The menu varies and I always bring the same thing, the family's favorite layered jello salad. This recipe was an old family favorite, but because I tweaked it and made it better, they have me make it. Last year the main course was standing rib roast and beef brisket.

On Christmas day I traditionally cook the same thing. We always have ham from Honeybaked, scalloped potatoes or fancy cheese potatoes, deviled eggs, butter leaf salad with blue cheese crumbles, Chocolate and Butterscotch cake.

We have Christmas dinner at my son's house on Christmas Eve. We usually have family coming from San Diego, the Outer Banks, upstate New York and this year, a friend from Peru. The whole family scatters on Christmas day. All kinds of good food and great company.

For Thanksgiving I ALWAYS do the traditional Turkey, stuffing, etc.  For Christmas and New Years I do a special dinner. Each year I decide what those will be.  I've decided on Filet, sautéed mushrooms, and sunny side up eggs.  Still trying to decide on Christmas.

My wife used to do a special dinner for the family at Christmas, but now the kids have taken over (our old house is no longer big enough) and each year they take turns for the big Christmas dinner.  (turkey, ham, dressing, potatoes, salads, and whatever vegetables the host decides on)
