The Portuguese had a colony in Brazil for which they needed slaves; Angola seemed to be a good option for them. They established the very first base in the region of Luanda in the year 1575 and colonization began. At that time Angola was under the Mbundu Empire. As the attacks of the Portuguese began, the empire fell in the year 1902. After this capture of power, the white settlers began to come and it was colonized.
