Aristotle is a well known Greek Philosopher who was born in 384 BC in a place called Stageira in Chalcidice. His father was a personal physician to the King of Macedon. He is best known as the teacher of Alexander the Great and a student of Plato.

Aristotle got his education from Athens where Plato, the great philosopher of that time ran an academy. He studied form this academy for 20 years. He also established his own school by the name of Lyceum. It is said that during his times, he studied every subject available and also made contributions to them.

His main interest was in Physics, Metaphysics, Poetry, Biology, Zoology, Ethics, Politics etc. Most of his work has been lost and only 1/3 of his written work survives till date. His contributions include a systematic system of Western Philosophy, Observations in Biology that were validated in 19th century, formal study of logic, Physical and theological thinking in Islam, Jewish and Christian religions etc.
