G'day Guest,

Thank you for your question.

Britain incurred debts in fighting the war and had increased costs in maintaining a security presence. It's attempt to recover some of the costs from the American colonists was one of the major causes of the American revolution.

In the aftermath of the French and Indian war, there were many problems that arose for the British colonists. The victory of the French and Indian war got eclipsed by the proclamation issued by King George of Great Britain, which clearly said that English colonists were not empowered to establish their settlements in the Ohio valley. Most of the English colonists termed this proclamation as an unfair diktat, which was forcefully promulgated on them, specially when they were the actual people who had fought so valiantly without caring for their lives to conquer those lands from the French army during the French and Indian war.

Another problem was the Pontiac rebellion that launched attacks on British colonists the very same year they had won the French and Indian war. It was led by an Ottawa leader whose name was Pontiac. Another factor that angered the colonists were the unnecessary tax laws that the British government had put on them by virtue of legal implications.
