After the revolutionary war legal rights for women improved. Before hand women were not allowed to get a divorce from there husband for any reason, after the war women were able to obtain divorces. Also during the war men with off fighting, so women were left to run the farms, shops, and businesses. Before the war women were not allowed to have much of an education. After the war this improved a little bit, but the level of education was still not that good. Women only received enough education to be able to raise there children to be educated citizens. Although women were not treated much different after the war it was still a step towards equality for women.
