I am fascinated by that as well. It seems to me that Idaho and Utah are among the most conservative states in the nation, so how did he win those? It may be that the few Democrats there are in those states tend to be more extreme, perhaps driven to extremes by the extremity of the conservatives that dominate the politics there.
