He is the biological product of a destitute white mother who was abandoned by his black father. He was than adopted by white couple who gave him a good life. The only person in his life story that was oppressed was his white biological mother. I also haven't heard about him donating any time or money to any programs that will help rid the people of color of their oppression. The guy is another self-righteous, self-centered POS who likes to complain about things but never offer a solution.

He has the right to do what he did but I really hope that some defensive player breaks both his legs, if he ever plays again.

I don't think Kaepernick will be there for that. The League encourages players to stand for the Anthem but doesn't require it.

I don't understand the anger for not standing or saluting the flag. 😞

He can do what he likes, whether he is justified or not. Only hurting himself. Based on his playing career, it is likely this is what he'll be most remembered for. Too bad.

I bet a lot of soldiers would love for him to walk just a mile in THEIR shoes!

Many people on FB likes he's stance and I read he said he's Β not going to salute the American Flag, because of America's unfair treatment of African- Americans. I read Jesse Owens said the same thing.Β  I'm lost why he can't exercise his constitutional right, not to salute! Many are saying its not required to stand or salute. I don't understand the anger.Β

Jan, if you don't know much about football and who he is, you'll be confused. Hard to explain.

It's the anger and hate direct at him because of his personal choice not to stand and salute our American Flag. That's what I don't understand. I don't see football as a issue. Well, I'm moving on. Thanks 😏

Well, he has his rights to do that but I thought it was a crappy thing to do and shows disrespect for his country. From what I've been reading, that pretty much was the last nail on his coffin for the 49ers. He hasn't been playing well and this will finish him. He was so good a while back but has slipped badly and this was not the time to pull a stunt like this. Fined ? No but I'm sure he'll be gone soon anyway.

I find what he is doing DISGRACEFUL!!! The only reason this pompous ass HAS any rights is because of the many people that have fought in the military for him and the policemen that protect his ignorant existence.Β  I hope they cut him from the team!

I like that he used and practiced his freedom of speech but I greatly hate him for the way that he did it. I have a cousin who was injured during warfare, he lost both of his legs. But everytime during the day he lifts himself up on his wheel chair using his hands on the sides of the chair and states the pledgeΒ  of allegiance and stands when the national anthem plays even without legs he still rises from his seat and thanks his country. And this player can't even stand up for a little bit sickens me and I greatly disrespect himΒ  for it. And then he tries to say that it's about saying that it oppresses black people. He doesn't even know what that is he gets 19 million dollars a year and probably doesn't give any of it to any charities.Β

I'm thinking he's received many more concussions that either he or the rest of us are aware of.

That would make his position understandaable.
