Because it's a new beginning, "out with the old in with the new"....well newish.....but really the same. It's a nicer thought that "I'm a year nearer the grave." We get to worship the god who is Big Ben in the UK, for chiming every hour on the hour and watch fireworks around a giant ferris wheel, Londons Eye.

Because the last one ended.

Because human beings need some kind of ceremonial. Like in the past, we worship the nature. We need the festival to make believe something. Maybe it sounds pessimistic but you know, we need something to refresh our life.

Hi
there! It’s always worth celebrating the beginning of a new calendar! All
communities do it and for some, it even falls on dates other than the first of
January. Don’t you enjoy yourself during the festive season? If that’s not the
case, I feel pretty sad for you! All the best and happy new year!
