He tried to wake up America to energy conservation, attempted to switch over to the metric system( the ONLY President that tried to), started the President's council on physical fitness for students grades 1 through 12.He got Egypt and Israel to sign a peace treaty. There was talk about decriminalizing personal possession of marijuana, but that didn't happen. On the negative side he signed over the Panama canal, increased taxes that resulted in hyper-inflation and high interest rates. He's been a better ex-president though.
