Queen Victoria was one of the longest reigning Queen in history. Her reign lasted for 63 years. She had her coronation on 20 June 1837 and her reign ended with her death in 1901.

She was the daughter of Prince Edward who was the Duke of Kent and Princess Victoria. She was the niece of William IV, who was the ruling king before her and as he did not have any legitimate children, she was nominated for kingship. She is considered as the Grandmother of Europe.

Queen Victoria was married to Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. She met him when she was only 17 years of age. She got interested in him after three years and they got married in the year 1840. They had ten children together.

At the age of 21 , Queen Victoria proposed to her 1st cousin Prince Albert and on the 10th of
February 1840 they got married at the Chapel Royal in St. James' Palace.
