What Happened To Slaves After They Were Set Free?

They tried to find jobs on farms & in factories but many stayed and continued with working on the plantations they were already at because they didn't have other skills and they were already used to their job and felt safer than out in the world somewhere else

Most women became prostitutes because they had no rights and nothing else to do. They had less rights than white women and couldnt find normal jobs. Sometimes stayed until their families were free so their husbands could farm and they could start a buisness. - cali M. Hale hehe
