The first Governor General of Pakistan was the Quaid -e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Who was also the leader of Pakistan Muslim league? He was the founder of Pakistan. When Lord Mountbatten told him about this post then he said to him "every order of the state would be according to my desire, when I am governor general of Pakistan". So he became first governor general of Pakistan. At that time the governor general of Pakistan had the same rights, which is now president of Pakistan have. It means that there was not any post for the president even there was not any president; all the orders of the country were passed by the governor general of Pakistan.
Even after the death of Quaid -e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, most of the important matters were handled by governor general. But when the India act came, it refuses the governor general authority and the concept of many prime ministers. And introduces the post of president of Pakistan, and also the authorities was also given to president of Pakistan.
In 1956 when Pakistan become a republic nation then the Governor General's office was replaced by the president of Pakistan's office.
