firstly,i f we go through the history of the sub-continent we will find that the British came to India for trade.after the war of independence they took tough measures (it is a very simple word that they rather butchered thousands of Muslims mercilessly without any justification)because they knew that they had usurped the power from the Muslims.
Secondly, they are hundreds of books which describe what happen to thousands of Muslims after the war.it is a pathetic painful and heart-rending chapter of human history. the British tough that Muslims are he responsible of all the wars,because Muslims were in minority and the British taught that they can win war easily but Muslims use their mind and win the war so that's why British gave all the blame on the Muslims.
thirdly, the fact is this it wasn't only a Muslims war and the Hindus participated in the same measure.and even in 1857 the British attitude towards the Hindu populace compared favorably against that reserved for the Muslims
