In was in the month of February when Barack Obama announced his candidacy for the presidential election that is slated to be held in the month of November in the year 2008. When he announced his candidacy he was standing before the building called Old State Capitol and the city was Springfield in the state of Illinois.

While making the announcement he went to describe his working life and in the process he compared himself to Abraham Lincoln also by giving reference to the speech that Lincoln delivered in the year 1858 and got fame with the title called House Divided.

When he made the announcement, there was a lot of speculation among people that he would be actually able to run for it or not, but if we look at the latest trends, he is only behind the front runner Hillary Clinton and is encompassing that gap very fast.
