The Battle of Camden started on August 16th, 1780 in South Carolina. This was a battle between British and American revolutionary forces and was part of the American Revolutionary War, where thirteen British colonies sought independence from Great Britain. The Battle of Camden was eventually won by a British army of some 2000 troops fighting against a somewhat larger American force.
