Bill Clinton's first Secretary of State, before Madeline Albright, during his first term in office was Warren Minor Christopher. Warren Christopher was born on the 27th of October 1925. He studied at Hollywood High School, University of Redland, University of Southern California, and the Stanford Law School.
He was originally a law clerk in the United States Supreme Court under Justice William O Douglas. Later he practiced law with O'Melveny & Myres where he would later become a partner. He later became the Deputy Attorney General in the year 1967 till 1969. He was later the Deputy Secretary of State from 1977 to 1981. He is credited with having made possible the release of 51 hostages held in Iran. He is also the recipient of the highest civilian award in America known as the Medal of Freedom.
