What Were The Disadvantages Of British Imperialism In India?

Vast amounts of money were siphoned off by the East India Company and later by the British colonial administration. Aside from that, there were no real disadvantages, as British rule ended much local infighting. When the rise of nationalism made retention of India as British colony no longer viable, Britain withdrew. It's arguable whether Partition was a good idea, as Indians and Pak appear to have been at other's throats ever since.
