You, the two sides in WW2 were the axis and the allies.
The main countries on the original allied side were Britain and France in 1939, until France surrendered in 1940, leaving only the British against the axis. Russia joined in 1941 and then America joined after. Britain, Russia and America were the main 3 allied countries.
The main axis coutries were Germany, Italy and Japan.

No, you have the dates wrong, by 1993, the Gulf War started. And why did you say the USSR was in the allies when the non-aggression pact was made,if it was made with Adolph Hitler !? If you mean 1943 Russia won the battle of Kursk. 1933 Hitler was just elected.

The allies
ussr,canada,britain,france
the axis
germany italy,japan, bulgaria
but different countries say different dates of wwii because russia joined in 1941 so if you ask a russian man
"hey, when did world war 2 start" they would say 1941
but if you asked someone in britain
"hey, when did world war 2 start" they would say 1939
so it depends where you are from

The two sides were the Axis and the Allies.                                                                    By Sep. 1, 1939 the Axis was Germany, Italy, Japan, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Libya, Mozambique, Manchuria, Korea and the Phillipines. The  allies were Britain and France.

By 1942 (The height of German Occupation) The Axis was Japan, all of europe except for Sweden, Britain (NOT the Channel Islands), Switzerland, Denmark, Eire (Republic if Ireland), Spain, and Portugal, all of North Africa West of Egypt, Albania, Mozambique, 2/3 of the USSR, the Phillipines, China and Korea.

What? No! America had war with Germany after D-Day and I didn't see the point of invading when the Soviet Union was already pushing the nazis in full retreat! If you mean America and Japan the part of the war was still a minority compared to the USSR & England vs. Hitler, the war in Europe. If you mean Hitler, then I am sorry about this comment.
