Looking for a good response to a welcome speech? Here are the three rules to follow to make your response amazing:

  1. Keep it humble - People are gathered to celebrate as a group, it shouldn't be about drawing attention an individual, so keep your speech modest.
  2. Praise and thank God. That is after all why you are gathered.
  3. Thank everyone involved in the welcome speech, and the day in general.

So a sample response to a welcome speech could go something like this:

"thank you all for making this day really special, and for allowing me to visit your church and become part of your congregation today, I pray that God paves the way for a stronger bond between us all, and that we might learn and love God together."
